Advent Begins at Wonersh

Today the staff and students at St John's Seminary organised a special open day to celebrate the beginning of Advent. I was invited down because part of the import of the day was to promote priestly vocations. There were various inputs, meditations and times of prayer. The video 'Fishers of Men' was also shown in the early afternoon. Later there was a time of quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament followed by Benediction. The day concluded with mulled wine and mince pies, but before that we had a service of psalms and readings in the Church. Everything was very well organised. I was very pleased to meet up with some young lads I know to be thinking of priesthood and also to meet one or two new faces. I was also pleased to see that our students there seem to be happy and continue to get along well.
